• The multinational attends, for the first time, the ExpoEspeciales- Café de Colombia
• The Azkoyen Group have been operating in Colombia for over a year
The Azkoyen Group presented its range of machines at the ExpoEspeciales – Café de Colombia, the leading Latin American exhibition focused on promoting quality origin coffees, which was held in Bogota.
It is the first time that Azkoyen attended this event, which takes place in the heart of the coffee world, and it did so with a large stand of 42 m2 from which it displayed the ZEN and ZENSIA, VITALE S and VITRO models.
Within the framework of this event, which includes a competition of baristas, the company unveiled its application for iPhone and Android devices, Button Barista App, which allows the drinks available in their vending machines to be customised. This application offers the option to adjust parameters such as the weight of coffee, the volume of water or milk and the amount of sugar, which results in hundreds of possible recipes, making each user a genuine barista.
The general manager of Azkoyen, Eduardo Unzu, said that Azkoyen machines “have been very successful in the exhibition, which integrates the entire value chain of coffee and offers a unique setting to exhibit and make known the trends and innovations in the international market”. “The success in ExpoEspeciales reflects the extensive appeal and high growth prospects that the company has in this continent” declared Unzu.
Azkoyen Commitment in Latin America
The Azkoyen Group, showing its firm commitment to internationalisation, opened a factory in Colombia over a year ago. It is the group’s first plant outside of Europe and functions as the operations centre for the entire continent.
Located in the free trade zone of Pereira, Andean Azkoyen has 1,356 m2 that brings together four manufacturing lines, a complete stock of spare parts and a specialised and immediate technical service which offers customers the best delivery times, reduced costs and the ability to capitalise on business opportunities.
The production of this plant is aimed at the Central and South American markets and it is possible that, in a second phase, it will include the US market.
