Azkoyen launches its compact Vitro X1 espresso machine with the patented Distance Selection technology

  • Its compact design and features make it the perfect choice for medium sized offices and hotels, convenience stores and petrol stations
  • The Distance Selection technology allows products to be selected in coffee machines without the need to touch any surfaces, thereby providing safety and hygiene in the purchasing process

Azkoyen launches its new Vitro X1 coffee machine. It is a compact model, elegant and contemporary, for places with medium demand that seek to offer high quality drinks, together with the best user experience.

The Vitro X1 is an intuitive machine, easy to clean and maintain, which has been designed to adapt to a variety of business models offering a wide range of payment options for the consumer. It is also noteworthy for its variety of operating modes such as the AZK V30, patented by Azkoyen. This is a variable chamber pre-infusion and dispensing system that extracts the maximum taste and aroma with a perfect creaminess from any blend of roasted coffee.

This feature allows the intensity of the coffee to be adapted to the consumer’s taste, meaning that the Vitro X1 offers an optimal coffee experience, from the grinding of the beans until it reaches the cup in a matter of seconds. After all, coffee is one of the most widely consumed drinks in Europe and forms part of the social culture. According to data from the European Coffee Federation, Europe is the largest consumer of coffee in the world, accounting for 30% of the total market.

In addition to dispensing a wide range of coffee drinks based on espresso, the Vitro X1 offers delicious hot chocolates.

Given its characteristics, the Vitro X1 is designed for environments with a consumption of up to 150 cups a day, making it suitable for locations such as offices, medium-sized hotels, convenience stores and petrol stations.

Furthermore, this new model from the successful Vitro series is adapted to the current situation that requires greater safety and hygiene in the purchasing process, allowing products to be selected without contact with any surfaces, thanks to the new Distance Selection technology, also patented by Azkoyen. This technology allows the user to select the product from a safety distance of up to 2 centimetres without having to touch the surface of the machine.

It will be launched worldwide and the first phase of marketing will begin in Europe.

We are improving the energy efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of our refrigerated machines

We would like to keep you informed, by means of this document, of the plans of the Azkoyen Group’s Coffee & Vending Systems division to adapt Azkoyen and Coffetek brand refrigerated machines to the new European regulations and the improvements we are going to apply in terms of energy efficiency and the reduction in the environmental impact.

New cooling unit (R-290 gas) more efficient and environmentally friendly:

According to Regulation 517/2014, vending machines with cooling units containing HFCs (hydrofluorocarbons) with a GWP (global warming potential) of 150 or more, including R-134a, may not be placed on the market as from 1 January 2022.

https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=CELEX%3A32014R0517

At the moment the Palma and Mistral machines use the R-134a and the Azkoyen Group has selected the R-290 gas as a more sustainable alternative.

After the tests made using the new R-290 units, we estimate an improvement in energy consumption of around 10%.

These new cooling units will also be compatible with the existing Mistral+ H, Palma+ H, Palma Hz, Palma B6, B6G, B9 and Mistral+ H models that are on the market, which you will be able to adapt when you consider it necessary given that there is no obligation to adapt them under the new regulations but it will help you to relocate machines to new locations.

We expect to have these units installed in machines manufactured from the third quarter of 2021.

New energy labelling:

Regulation 2019/2018, which supplements Regulation 2017/1369, establishes a format for energy labelling and makes it compulsory to affix it to vending machines.

https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?qid=1603120068598&uri=CELEX:32019R2018

This new energy labelling will enter into force on 01/03/2021 and not only involves a change in format, but also a drastic change in the energy efficiency classification compared to the EMP energy scale used until 01/07/2019.

The following Azkoyen brand refrigerated models will be classified as follows:

EMP New Regulation
Model R-134a R-134a R-290
Palma+ H70   A F F
Palma+ H87   A F F
Mistral+ H70   A+ F E
Mistral+ H85   A+ F E
Palma B6G*   A F F

*Estimated consumption classification with new regulation. Measurement testing in progress.

We will gradually introduce the new label on all our refrigerated models before 31 March 2021.

The label will be included in the accessory bag inside the machine and its positioning on the surface of the machine will be at the discretion of the operator.

The explanations in this document, as well as the implementation dates, are approximate and are subject to modification if the Azkoyen Group considers it necessary, complying at all times with the dates established in the applicable regulations.

Azkoyen is working to distribute free PPE using its automatic machines

Azkoyen will be installing its automatic machines in the Eibar township (Gipuzkoa) to assist in the free distribution of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) by the local council to its citizens, with the aim of preventing the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

The distribution will be carried out in a safe and controlled manner thanks to the most advanced technology offered by the Azkoyen Palma+ and Mistral+ automatic machines. The Council of the Basque town of Eibar will issue a card to each citizen which they can use to obtain a maximum of two PPE per day via these automatic machines, which will be located at various points around the town.

Azkoyen will be expanding the installation of its Palma+ and Mistral+ models to industries, companies, commercial and public places, and other sectors to facilitate the distribution of masks, gloves, hydro-alcoholic gels or any other protective material that helps to avoid the contagion and spread of the virus. The latest technology of these machines allows them to limit the extraction by the user and within a certain period of time, something that provides the distributor with full control of the stock.

Azkoyen patents the Distance Selection technology which allows product selection in automatic machines without the need to touch any surfaces

Azkoyen has developed and patented Distance Selection technology for their automatic machines, which allows the user to obtain the products without having any contact with the surface of the machine, adding safety and hygiene to the purchasing process.

The mechanical push-button or touch-screen panels on vending machines, are now being replaced by new technologies that work remotely, such as the Distance Selection technology featured in Azkoyen Group machines. Thanks to this, the user can select the product they want from a distance of up to 2 centimetres from the surface of the selection panel as shown in this video .

The health and safety measure enabled by Distance Selection will improve consumer confidence in the use of vending machines, ideal for work and hospitality environments.

Changing the way we relate to the devices around us, such as vending machines, has become an indispensable step towards significantly reducing the risk of spreading bacteria and viruses such as Covid-19, which will be reflected in improved health for users.

Azkoyen installs its coffee machines in service areas in the Sultanate of Oman

Azkoyen has begun to prepare coffee in the service stations in the Sultanate of Oman.

The agreement signed by DRD, the official distributor for the Azkoyen in the Sultanate of Oman, with Oman Oil, the leading oil company in the country, has made it possible to install the first machines during 2019.7

Oman Oil has chosen to update the concept of coffee at petrol stations by introducing espresso coffee with freshly ground beans. A new concept of coffee to go which increases the perception of quality among end-users. It seeks to provide new experiences, similar to those of a Coffee Shop, resulting in greater customer satisfaction.

Azkoyen  will continue to install its Vitro S5 and S1 machines, its most compact model, in the service areas of the Sultanate of Oman during 2020. These professional coffee machines are designed to provide the highest quality espresso-based hot drinks.
